Our Programme

By enhancing current learning, we empower students to empower others. We partner with schools and charities that have a commitment to the Hong Kong community. We’re here to maximise their contribution. By bringing together students from different backgrounds, we build a long-term dual-mentorship programme that enriches the lives of students from all backgrounds.

On a global scale, the access to quality to education is on the rise. But despite that, depression, social anxiety and unhappiness amongst young people is at a recorded high. We explore how character education can be paired with community-building to encourage social and emotional awareness.

FairPlay made me think about different world issues I care about and made me realise that there really are ways we can help.

Social Impact Workshops

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY

Through the Social Impact Workshops, FairPlay supports international school students through their own creative journey and self exploration. By understanding their own motivations and limitations, students are able to:

✔︎ Gain an understanding of character development and self awareness
✔︎ Delve deep into the thought-process behind meta-learning and growth mindset
✔︎ Explore how confidence and creative articulation can empower differences and create connections

And, ultimately, facilitate their own classes for local school students.

English, Drama & Character Classes

LOCAL SCHOOL STUDENTS & INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS

These classes cement a mutually insightful mentorship, allowing students from both backgrounds to learn and grow through interactions and relationships they’re not exposed to on a daily basis. After speaking to people from nonprofits for underprivileged children, we found a recurring shared concern was the student’s spoken English, confidence, creativity and social skills. Drama lends itself to developing these soft skills in a way that encourages new vocabulary, vocal awareness, body language, emotional intelligence and, of course, confidence. In acting out alternative points of view as a group, it also encourages empathy and teamwork.

Local school students gain:

✔︎ The confidence to interact with native English speakers
✔︎ The teamwork to perform a final production to an audience
✔︎ Social skills and character education to prepare them for their next steps in life

International school students gain:

✔︎ A first-hand understanding of the benefits of teaching others
✔︎ Creative vision, curiosity and drive to co-create and direct meaningful art
✔︎ An ongoing awareness and interest to make a sustainable contribution to Hong Kong’s community
